Shaka hobbies will be implementing the following rules for our mini-z racing. these rules are based on the pn racing pnwc rules to keep mostly inline with other large tracks racing 1/28 scale cars. these rules are subject to change.. should you have any questions please feel free to contact us at shakahobbies@gmail.com.




1. Track operation

never run your car the opposite direction of intention on the track! you will be removed permanently.

Do not step on track, you will be removed permanently if asked multiple times.

spectators welcome, no horseplay allowed 

     A. ENTRY FEE TO RACE IS $10.00, and includes your FIRST CLASS and same day practice 12-4pm,         $10.00/EACH ADDITIONAL CLASS to be raced.

     B. IN ORDER TO RACE YOU MUST PAY THE ENTRY before the start of qualifying to register your       car for the class.

     C. PLEASE REGISTER ALL CARS THAT YOU WILL BE RACING AT THAT TIME.

     D. IF YOU ARE RACING A NEW CAR OR CLASS PLASE BRING THE TRANSPONDER # TO THE
     RACE DIRECTOR AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION so we can get you registered prior to race               start.

     F. REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE 15 MINUTES BEFORE QUALIFYING STARTS. IF YOU ARE RUNNING LATE              PLEASE CALL shaka hobbies SO WE CAN PRE-REGISTER.

     G. IF YOU ARE LATE AND DID NOT PRE-REGISTER YOU WILL NOT QUALIFY. YOU WILL START IN THE REAR      OF THE LAST HEAT RACE

     H. Do not take up more than a reasonable amount of pit space. be ready to share 6ft                 tables between 4 racers. 

     I. you must have an easylaps transponder to race.


2. CLASSES


Box Stock kyosho mini-z rwd

   Motor: kyosho Stock mz9p allowed only in stock form.

     Chassis: Kyosho MR03 RWD. 98mm wheelbase.     

     Wheels: Kyosho 8.5mm and 11mm plastic wheels only. offset must fit inside of the body.     

     Tire: Kyosho 8.5mm and 11mm only. any compound

     esc: Kyosho Readyset brushed ESC mz414b

     Transmitter: Kyosho kt531 from RTR only.

     Gear Ratio: 6t, 7t, 8t or 9t .5 mod pinions allowed, with Stock Gear Diff only.  

     Body: Kyosho original AutoScale (and white body 98mm) bodies only, all parts must be             original from that body. 

     Batteries: AAA NiMH 4pcs only.       

     Modifications: It must be run in stock configuration, with all box stock parts only (with       exception of tires). 



pn novice Box Stock Class (tbd may not be used)

     Motor: Kyosho MZ9P and MZ9E Motor from RTR, allow change the motor wire and remove           the safety switch.

     Chassis: Kyohso MR03S, MR03S2 and MR03 RWD.

     Wheels: Kyosho or PN plastic wheels, Front 8.5mm x 20mm, Rear 11mmx20mm, offset must fit       inside of the body.

     Tire: Kyosho or PN rubber tire only Traction Compounds NOT allowed on tire or on race           surface. Tire warmers are allowed. Tires may be cleaned with a 70% alcohol solution. If a       driver uses tire cleaner that has been deemed illegal, the driver will be subject to any         penalties that apply. Please address any questions concerning tire cleaners at the                 drivers meeting.

     Electronic & Transmitter: Kyohso original from RTR, NO any modification. 

     Gear Ratio: Fixed 9T Pinion with Stock Gear Diff. Kyosho or PN 400329 only.

     Wheelbase: 90mm to 102mm

     Body: Kyosho original AutoScale body, white body, Jomurema GT01 body and TRP Scale               body,all parts must be original form that body, limited wheel clearance modification             allowed.

     Batteries: Kyosho Speed House 800HV, Peak Racing 900HV, TRP747, TRP900, PN HP750 and PN           HP900 AAA NiMH 4pcs only.

     Option Parts: Kyosho or PN Ball Bearing, wheel nut and T-Plate only.

     Modifications: It must be run in stock configuration.


2wd stock class

     Chassis: Kyosho Mini-Z Racer MR01, MR015, MR02, MR03, MRC MR01 and PNR2.5W. 90mm-98mm               wheel base only.

     Body: Kyosho Mini-Z, TRP Scale and Jomurema GT01, GL 488 Lambo body only, LeMans body             NOT allowed, full windshield and window must be installed, except for clearance, Lexan       window and Lexan Roof allowed.

     Motor: Event Purchased Handout motor ONLY - will be PN Brushless V3.1 3500kv #160035WC,       all motor comes with standard 14.5 rotor. Handout motor will be sealed with security           label, if the label removed or broken will be VOID. Motor will be provided at first                   practice day for purchase (Entry Fee not included), each class maximum purchase two             motor.

     Gear ratio: 64 Pitch 16 Pinion (#416416 or #426416) / 53T Spur Gear (#MR2953WC Yellow or             #MR2055-T53WC Yellow) ONLY.

     ESC: Kyosho ASF VE VE Pro MR03S RWD and EVO, PN 16A ESC (#500807 and #500807A)

     Battery: Cars must be powered by four AAA batteries. Alkaline, Ni-MH or Ni-Cd batteries            may be used. No other type of battery may be used. For example: Lithium Polymer may not         be used. Additional battery for transponder allowed.

     Option Parts: Any aftermarket brand Mini-Z production parts allowed, any homemade               parts, 3D print option parts and prototype parts not allowed. Allowed 3D Print                       Transponder Holder, Body Side Clips, ESC Top Cover allowed.

     Wheel: All brand Plastic and Aluminum Mini-Z production wheel rims are allowed.                     Maximum front wheel width is 8.5mm. Maximum rear wheel width is 11mm. 3. GENERAL car RULES


Body Modifications:

     Bodies may be functionally modified with minimal effect external appearance. The                   following non-comprehensive list of body modifications are allowed:

         1. The rear bumper may be removed up to Maximum 20mm from the ground.
         2. Wheel wells may be cut forward or backward to accommodate different wheelbase                   chassis.
         3. Wheel wells may be cut or chamfered internally for tire clearance.
         4. Lower portions of the body may be cut for ground clearance in front, sides or rear.           5. Body material may be shaved or thinned internally for weight reduction. Technical                 inspection officials reserve the right to disqualify any modified body deemed to be                 too fragile due to excessive material removal.
         6. Body panels may be reinforced or strengthened internally without affecting                           external appearance.
         7. Original windshield and windows must be installed, but can be modified by cutting                   unexposed internal areas.
         8. Original headlight covers must be installed, but headlight buckets may be removed                 or omitted. In the event that a headlight cover is lost, the hole may be covered with               a decal.                                                                                                                                               9. Taillights and taillight covers may be removed or omitted.
        10. Small body parts such as mirrors, canards, exhausts may be omitted or removed to                   prevent racing damage and debris on track.
        11. All rear wing comes with the body may be installed according to the no height                         limited. Custom Manufactured wings allow using on the body, according to the                         height limited 45mm from the ground. 

the above list is non-comprehensive. The purpose and spirit of the rules is to allow functional performance modifications to the body while preserving the scale appearance and realism. The technical inspector has final authority in the judgment of body modification legality. 

If you have modified your body and have questions regarding the legality of the modifications, please submit the body in question to technical inspection PRIOR to racing qualification or main event round. This is in order to prevent any inadvertent disqualifications. The technical inspector will judge the legality of body modifications and photograph the body in its legal state if necessary. 

If the body is further modified post-inspection, the modifications may or may not be legal. For the racer's protection, please re-submit the body in question to technical inspection IMMEDIATELY if significant modifications are made. 

If the body is damaged, the condition of the body may or may not be legal. For the racer's protection, please submit the body in question to technical inspection IMMEDIATELY if significant damage occurs. If the damaged body is judged illegal, it must be repaired or replaced for the next qualification or main event round. Qualification or main event results during which racing damage occurs on track will be allowed, as long as the body is not judged to be intentionally designed to break away to benefit performance.

3. race FORMAT

1. PRACTICE

     A. Practice is open saturdays beginning at noon until 4pm.

     B. DURING PRACTICE IF YOU CRASH PLEASE YELL OUT “CAUTION”. THIS WILL ALERT OTHEr DRIVERS.           The cars are quick and its easy to get up on a smaller track. WHEN CAUTION IS YELLED OUT,         THE TRACK IS UNDER CAUTION (YELLOW FLAG) ALL CARS ON THE TRACK MUST SLOW DOWN AROUND           THE WHOLE TRACK UNTIL THE CRASH IS CLEARED UP. ONCE THE TRACK IS CLEARED YOU MAY PROCEED       AT RACE SPEED. Again respect one another.

     c. PIT LANE tbd location will be the only track entrance and exit. DO NOT SET YOUR CAR      DOWN or pick up at ANY other location ON THE TRACK.

2. class order Box stock, pnwc novice box stock, 2wd stock, super stock, 2wd modified, awd modified, pan car open.


2. QUALIFYING

     A. All times will be recorded to the millisecond (1.234)

     b. EACH CAR WILL GET 3 LAPS TO GET YOUR BEST TIME

     c. Listen for class qualifying to be ready when your name is called.  IF YOU miss your call       you may be required to run at back of last heat.

3. HEAT RACES

     A. HEATS WILL BE LINED UP BY QUALIFYING TIMES

     B. ALL HEAT races WILL BE 5 minutes

     D. IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE main qualifying YOU MUST Finish THE entire heat RACE.

     E. MAX CARS IN A HEAT WILL BE 5 (this will likely change as the group grows)


4. QUALIFYING MAINS

     A. ALL QUALIFYING MAINS WILL BE 5 minutes

     B. maximum of 5 cars per qualifying main

     C. no bump up


5. MAINs

     a. ALL MAINS WILL START WITH A MAXIUM OF 5 CARS

     b. a mains will be 8 minutes

     c. b and lower mains will be 5 minutes

   


4.RACERS/ DRIVERS


1.DRIVERS

     A. THIS IS A HOBBY

     B. ABSOLUTLEY NO PROFANITY, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO GO HOME FOR THE NIGHT

     C. IF YOU ARE NOT HAVING FUN, PACK UP AND GO HOME AND TRY IT AGAIN NEXT WEEK. YOUR
     BAD DAY DOES NOT NEED TO RUIN SOMEONE ELSES NIGHT.

     D. DO NOT SCREAM AND YELL AT THE MARSHALLS. IT IS NOT THE MARSHALLS FAULT YOU CRASHED.

     E. PLEASE BE READY FOR YOUR TIME ON THE TRACK. IF YOU ARE CALLED TWICE TO LINE UP
     FOR A HEAT OR MAIN, YOU WILLSTART IN THE REAR (WE WILL NOT WAIT)

     F. IF YOU ARE HAVING MECHANICAL PROBLEMS PLEASE LET AN RACE OFFICIAL KNOW

     G. IF THE RACE YOU ARE IN, IS CALLED AND THERE ARE MECHANICAL PROBLEMS ON YOU
     CAR ONCE ALL THE OTHER CARS ARE ON THE TRACK AND HAVE LINED UP THE WORK CLOCK
     WILL START. THAT DRIVER HAS ONE MINUTE TO GET THE CAR FIXED AND, ON THE STARTING,
     GRID ONCE THE MINUTE IS UP THE RACE WILL START.

     H. IF YOU HAVE TO SCRATCH FOR A RACE OR THE NIGHT PLEASE LET AN OFFICIAL KNOW

     I. VETERAN RACERS HELP OUT A NEW RACER IF YOU SEE THEM STRUGGLING

     K. Do not step on the track

     l. keep out of drivers way when not racing.

     m. Just be a decent person, so we can all enjoy it. if you dont like it here, dont come back.


2.TURNMARSHAL

     A. AFTER EVERY RACE YOU MUST GO TURN MARSHALL THE NEXT RACE

     C. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR CORNER OR STRAIGHTAWAY ON THE TRACK

     D. GET TO THE CRASH AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT STEPPING ON ANOTHER RACER’S CAr.


3.TECH

     A. ALL CARS ARE SUBJECT TO BE TECHED AT ANY GIVEN PART OF THE NIGHT. WE HAVE TO KEEP ALL            RACERS/ CARS ON A EVEN PLAYING FIELD

     B. THE RACE DIRECTOR WILL CALL OUT WHICH CLASS OR CARS WILL BE TECHED AT THE START OF THAT      RACE. AFTER THE RACE, PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE TECH TABLE WITH YOUR CAR AND RADIO. DO NOT      GO TO YOUr PIT, DO NOT PULL THE BATTERY. THE CAR WILL COME TO TECH AS IT CAME OFF THE TRACK.

     C. ONLY THE DRIVER OF THE CAR CALLED TO TECH IS ALLOWED IN THE TECH AREA. IF THE DRIVER IS          YOUNGER, WE WILL ALLOW ONE CREW MEMBER TO TECH ALSO.

     D. IF AND WHEN A CAR IS TECHED, THE TECH OFFICIALS WILL NOT PUT THE CAR BACK TOGETHER, THE        TECH OFFICIALS WILL KEEP ALL PARTS TOGETHER FOR YOU. WE ARE SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.
